At Kindreds, we used to do a virtual Secret Santa, and we're continuing the tradition here.
The way it works is that you sign up in the thread below. You will be (randomly) given a name to be given a gift, and someone will be given you.
You can give your person anything; some people like to post a list of interests to make it easier on their giver, some don't; past gifts have included banners, headers, icons, fanfics, pretty pictures, vids, and I think I remember someone doing a song mix.
The Secret Santa's Sack Of Goodies Thread opens December 24 and gift giving can span from Dec 24 to 26. (We know people are busy, or out of town. Or both.) You post your gift using TheSecretSanta, and the password is penikettpark13.
It's a lot of fun, and some neat things have come out of it.
Signups close Dec. 3, assignments go out Dec. 4.

Should we post a list of likes/dislikes to help our SS get a better idea of what we might like and if so, should we do that here or create a seperate thread for it? (Or perhaps you're planning to open a thread just for this purpose after our giftees names have been given out?)

I wish I had time to put together a secret santa gift this year, but I don't. I'm glad to see there are a bunch of people doing this, however.
